JOURNALISM
Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. A journalist often becomes a witness in any event that has news values. Not infrequently they have to interact with sources which sometimes involve secrecy. These journalists generally work in an industry called the media. In meaning, the media implies as a means of channeling between the first and third parties. In the context of national and state life, the media means a bridge between the government and its people. Therefore, every media actor must have independence and side only with truth based on facts.
The main activities in the world of journalism, especially for journalists, are covering, processing, and presenting information in the form of news to the public. In simpler terms, the reporter can also be said to be a person who reports an incident by stating who, what, when, where, why, and how the event happened. But in the current conditions, the world of journalism is increasingly complex because every media player competes to get fast and accurate information. They are generally affiliated with a number of media, including: newspapers, television, radio, magazines and digital media that are being developed recently. Journalism can be distinguished from other activities and products by certain identifiable characteristics and practices. These elements not only separate journalism from other forms of communication, but also make it indispensable in democratic societies. History reveals that the more democratic a society, the more news and information it has.
Then to become a journalist, of course you must have skills such as there are several skills that must be possessed. Such as the latest information, good attitude, communication skills and broad insights, as well as the ability to write in various media.
