TOURISTS IN LUBLIN
CHAPTER 1
A play script
The play script was written and translated into English by teachers involved in Erasmus+ project and was supposed to be performed by students during the mobility in Poland. Students were rehearsing for a long time but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the mobility was cancelled and they couldn't give the performance. However, the play script can be a great source of inspiration for future school performances.

Scene 1.

The Tourist Guide
Ladies and gentelmen, can you please come closer. We’ve just walked from the Grodzka Gate through the Old Town to the city’s second main gate- the Cracow Gate. – We are right in front of the town hall where the meetings of the City Council take place. In a moment you will hear the Lublin bugle call played from the balcony of the City Hall. Have a look at the flag of the city of Lublin and you will see white, red and green colours. Those colours are also on the coat-of-arms of Lublin with a billy goat climbing on vines. The goat is not the only symbollic animal motif in Lublin. At the Castle Square you saw a lion and to the left of the Trinity Tower „a tin rooster whirred”,as our poet Józef Czechowicz wrote in one of his poems.
Now you can enjoy your free time and I will meet you back in an hour at Po Farze Square.

A Boy
Pasta? Well, you want to have dinner? I think you should try lubelskie-style pierogi! PIEROGI!!!
A Girl
Che cose (ke koze) pirodżi?
A Boy
Let’s go, amica, I’ll show you where you can try some nice food in Lublin!
Scene 3. (Para cudzoziemców wędruje po mieście i robi zdjęcia. Ubrani kolorowo jak turyści. Mężczyzna robi pani zdjęcia na tle Bramy Krakowskiej. Robią sobie wspólne zdjęcie selfie. Idą dalej. Rozmawiają ze sobą.)

Yes, that’s true. We’ve already seen Podzamcze and Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. I can’t wait to see the Old Town!
