My Opinions
All people should be equal,
like a balanced scale.

Family is crucial,
like a beating heart.

Education should be as available,
as the desire to learn.

The environment should be protected,
like a treasured piece of art.

Life should be enjoyed,
Like an amusement park ride.
Life is a Loaf of Bread
Life is a loaf of bread,
Life does not last long,
Life is to be enjoyed,
Life can move ever so quickly along.

Life can be taken,
Life can be made,
Life is delicate,
And it’s up to you how your life is conveyed.
Age Changes Me
The architecture of my mind,
Through which all of my dreams and ideas and hopes are funnelled,
In my city, Vancouver,
Fairy-tale like and delicate,
With the suburbs of the North Shore,
I grow with the mountains and wilderness.
Earth’s climate is fine,
Never mind, that is not true,
Earth is on fire.

Time goes by slowly,
That is beginning to change,
Each year is shorter.

I like being young,
I don’t want to get older,
I want to grow up.
I changed this prose to be about North Vancouver and the place I am growing up. It was originally about the Lions Gate Bridge, but I don’t believe that the Lions Gate Bridge is important to me. I changed the meaning to be about how I view a place that is important to me by taking out half of the words, adding two words, and changing the punctuation.

Weather
Rain falls onto me,
I hear it bounce on the cold concrete,
Sun shines onto my skin,
I feel the radiant rays,
The wind blows into my face,
I hear it howling,
The snow falls in front of me,
I feel the bite of the cold,
The thunder booms behind me,
I hear it growling,
The hail pelts my body,
I feel the sharp pains,
I experience the weather around me.
