The Earth and Me

The Earth and me
The Beauty of the Earth:
Maldives, in full Republic of Maldives, also called Maldive Islands, independent island country in the north-central Indian Ocean.  The Maldives is a series of coral atolls in the Indian Ocean, and if climate change raises sea levels by even a little bit, it will no longer exist — the nation’s highest point is only about seven feet and 10 inches off the water (it’s the world’s lowest country).
Its waters are home to several ecosystems, including 187 species of vibrant hard coral. This area of the Indian Ocean is with houses for 1,100 species of fish, five species of sea turtles, 21 species of whales and dolphins, 400 species of mollusks, and 83 species of echinoderms.
Endangered species
Is the world safe for all plants and animals? Why/ why not?
No it isn't . There are a lot of endangered animals in the world.
What does it mean for a species to be endangered?
It means, that the animal is in danger and probably there is a high risk for it to become extinct.
Why should we protect endangered species?
Animals love people, feel pain and have different emotional states. The greatest threat to them is a human, who degrades their natural environment and kills endangered species - mainly for profit.
Name the other endangered animals:
Yangtze Finless Porpoise, Cheetah, Red Panda, Hawksbill Turtle
What should we do to protect these animals?
Support initiatives that promote nature conservation - healthy ecosystems help to protect the climate. Do not contribute to environmental pollution - make sure that the rubbish you produce does not end up everywhere, but it is located in the places designated for waste. Don't destroy animal habitats.
Nature Reserves
This string of five colourful seaside towns along the Ligurian coast of Italy runs from Monterosso al Mare in the North to Riomaggiore in the South. It’s a walker’s delight, with multiple panoramic trails running from village to village. We suggest stopping off for cool dips at parasol-dotted beaches and long lunches of trofie al pesto, a speciality of the area. To stay: this stunning sea view villa in Portovenere.
