Mary Anning

The story of Mary Anning is so beautiful, because she was a palaeontologist and discovered some fossils of marine animals from the jurassic period.
She was born on May 10th, 1799 in Lyme Regis, United Kingdom.

How did her discoveries change the world?
She found and identified many pre-historic fossils from the time of the dinosaurs and sold them to make money for her family.

Her life
Her father lived in Lyme Regis, England, where he made searches for fossils in the regions close to the town he lived. Then, he moved to Colyton, Devon and married with Mary Moore, known as Molly. Where he and Mary Anning moved back to Lyme Regis.

Mary Anning had 4 children, and she finally died in 1810 at the age of 44 from Tuberculosis. When she died, the money gained from fossil trade would be gone, and the family couldn't make money either, so it called for help to the parish.
