Rivisiting the book "The braid" 

Few days later, Sarah and her family took the plane to go to Palermo. They had never been to Europe, and even less to Sicily. It was so different from Canada&nbsp;! They could not believe their eyes. As soon as they reached the hotel, Sarah decided to call the laboratory. The secretary said she could come and meet the manager. Sarah took a taxi and went to the laboratory. There, she met Giulia for the first time and her boyfriend Kamal. Giulia was very happy to hear that the wig had helped Sarah and changed her life. Sarah asked if she knew who was kind enough to donate her hair. Giulia didn’t know but Kamal said he could ask a friend of his who lives close to the sacred mountain of Tirupati. He said that lots of people shave their hair there to make an offering to the Vishnu god, and that this hair is usually sold to European laboratories which make wigs. Giulia and Kaml promised they would do their best to find the women who gave their hair.

As an offering to Vishnu, Smita and her daughter have their heads shaved in the god's temple. Smita feels soothed, blessed and protected. Her faith in Lalita's future is all the stronger for it.

Smita leaves the village with her daughter and travels across India to Tirupati to climb the Sacred Hill.

<br/>&nbsp;Sarah Cohen lives in Montreal. She is a lawyer. She worked very hard to be where she is today. She is divorced. She has children but she hides it from her colleagues and clients, because she does not want them to harm her career. She hired Ron so that he could take care of her children while she was away.&nbsp;

Sara after going to the hairdresser comes home, crosses the threshold of the door and waiting for her are her children and her new partner who, after seeing her dull, sad and emotionless for so long, finally see her eyes shining, see her happy. The following days pass quickly, Sara goes back to work, she also brings joy to her colleagues who, after so long, see her reborn and ready to start anew. 

Over time she begins to think more and more about how much the wig has totally changed her life, so she makes the decision that she wants to find the donor of the hair and the one who processed it. So the next day she goes to the hairdresser and asks her where she had purchased it. The woman answers that she bought it in a laboratory in Sicily, more exactly in Palermo, and gives her the address. As soon as Sara returned home, she talked to her partner and immediately decided to buy a plane ticket to Palermo.

Smita lives in Badlapur in India. Smita is an untouchable and she wants her daughter Lalita to go to school and get an education

Sarah remains bedridden, devastated, but she finds her energy in thinking of her children and her mother, who remained elegant while suffering from the same illness. She decides to go to a wigmaker, where she chooses a wig made from hair imported from India and processed in Sicily.

Sarah is discriminated against and stigmatized in her workplace because her colleagues know she is ill. Her competitors Ines and Curst take advantage of the situation to take her place at the firm.
