A Life Member is an individual who has made a lifetime commitment to ASCE and the civil engineering profession by remaining a member for the full length of their professional career. Life Member status is bestowed on an ASCE member in recognition of his or her long-term support of the Society. Fellows, Members, or Affiliates, who have reached the age of sixty-five years, and who have paid dues in any membership grade for a number of years such that when added to their age the sum equals or exceeds ninety-five, shall qualify for Life Member status. Life Members are exempt from further dues, provided that the member has paid dues for at least twenty years.
