The Middle Colonies had a very diverse population, attracting people from other European countries besides Great Britain, such as Germany and Ireland. These people held many different religious beliefs.

People came to the Middle Colonies because of the strong economy and religious freedom. You could be any religion you chose, unlike in the New England where you had to be Puritan. William Penn started Pennsylvania to have a colony where Quakers could live in peace, and the British conquered New York from the Dutch so the settlers in New England could have new trade routes.
THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE MIDDLE COLONIES!
The middle colonies have rich soil, unlike the rocky soil of New England. They also have many rivers for transportation and the valuable mineral Iron is found there, along with other minerals and timber from forests.

The successful economy included farming, raising cattle, selling cash crops, pork, wheat, barley, and veggies which they sold or traded to other colonies. People also worked as miners, lumbermen, and merchants. There are only a few ways to make money in the South, but there are so many ways to get a lot of cash in the Middle Colonies.
