2) Das Apfelsaft-Projekt Die Klasse 4-5a bekam im Herbst das Angebot, Äpfel auf der Wiese von Herrn Schall zu ernten. Wir sammelten mehrere Kisten voll, entdeckten das Leben auf der Wiese und viele Insekten.

2) The apple juice project Class 4-5a received an offer in autumn to harvest apples from Mr. Schall's meadow. We collected several boxes full, discovered life in the meadow and many insects.

Wir überlegten, was wir jetzt mit dem Saft tun könnten. Wir dachten daran, ihn zu verkaufen und einen Ausflug zu machen. Zum St.Martins-Fest sprachen wir dann über Menschen die heute, im Jahr 2020, einen St. Martin bräuchten, und wie man ihnen helfen könnte. Da kam die Idee auf, den Apfelsaft an die Eltern zu verkaufen und das Geld für Menschen in Not zu spenden. Die Klasse 4-5a bereitete einen Vortrag für die anderen Klassen vor und präsentierte die Idee bei der Feier.&nbsp;

We thought about what we could do with the juice now. We thought of selling it and going on a trip. At the St.Martins festival we talked about people who need a St. Martin today, in 2020, and how they could be helped. Then the idea came up to sell the apple juice to the parents and donate the money to people in need. Class 4-5a prepared a lecture for the other classes and presented the idea at the celebration.

Jetzt war die Frage, was wir mit den Äpfeln machen wollten. Wir aßen einige, einige wurden von älteren Schülern zu Kuchen und Marmelade verarbeitet und gedörrt (Apfel-Chips), einmal gab es Bratäpfel über dem Lagerfeuer. Den Rest pressten die Klassen 4-5a und b zu Apfelsaft: Wir schnitten zuerst die fauligen Stellen heraus und häckselten die Äpfel dann in einer Maschine zu Brei.&nbsp;

Now the question was what we wanted to do with the apples. We ate a few, some were made into cakes and jam by older students and dried (apple chips), and once there was baked apples over the campfire. Grades 4-5a and b pressed the rest into apple juice: We first cut out the rotten parts and then chopped the apples into pulp in a machine.

Den Brei füllten wir in einer Kelter, mit der wir den Saft heraus pressten. Der Saft schmeckte so frisch besonders lecker, und so süß, und das ohne Zucker! &nbsp;

We filled the porridge in a wine press with which we pressed out the juice. The juice tasted so fresh, especially delicious, and so sweet, and that without sugar!

Es gab auch eine Info-Tafel. Die Schüler schrieben einen Eltern-Brief und verkauften den Saft an ihre Eltern – viele spendeten mehr Geld, auch Eltern und Lehrer anderer Klassen. Nach Weihnachten wollen wir das Geld zur Bank bringen und an eine Hilfsorganisation überweisen. Alle beteiligten Schüler sind sehr stolz!

There was also an information board. They wrote a letter to parents and sold the juice to their parents - many donated more money, including parents and teachers in other classes. After Christmas we want to take the money to the bank and transfer it to an aid organization. All participating students are very proud!

Den Saft kochten wir dann mit etwas Vitamin C auf und füllten ihn heiß in Flaschen, so dass er haltbar wurde.

We then boiled the juice with a little vitamin C and filled it hot in bottles so that it would keep.
