About Us

We are open every morning between 9:15 and 12:25 during school term times

Our playgroup is overseen by a committee of parents and carers.

One day a week our session is held entirely in the local woods

We operate as a Funded Provider with Stirling Council. We offer fully funded places to eligible children (from age 3). Children from 2½ are welcome on a fee basis

We play outside every day(3)

There are 16 children at our playgroup, 8 attend full-time and 8 part- time. There are a maximum of 16 children at each session (1)

We are working with children, their families and our Community to develop our Visions, Values and Aims.

Would be nice to see projects/items the kids have built themselves

Woodland play is excellent, its the highlight of Child’s week

Encourages creative play

Its great the children learn in their own environment of the woods

Teaches the children to respect each other

Encourages children to be themselves and have fun in their environment

Love the fact you let them use real tools

More community awareness of playgroup (Makaton etc)

Children are encouraged to go out of their comfort zone

Their play embraces the local village and community

The children’s development is celebrated with them and their parents

We found lots of bugs and beasties living in our garden

I explore and discover the interesting features of my local environment to develop an awareness of the world around me. SOC 0-07a

I have observed living things in the environment over time and am becoming aware of how they depend on each other. SCN 0-01a

I explore and appreciate the wonder of nature within different environments and have playes a part in caring for the environment. SOC 0-08a

The sunflowers we planted in the spring have grown very tall. Now they are taller than we are. We counted 4 different insects on the flowers too. We found a ladybird and decided her name was Emma

I have experimented with everyday items as units of measure to investigate and compare sizes and amounts in my environments, sharing my findings with others. MNU 0-11a

We visited the library and found some new books to read

I use signs, books or other texts to find useful or interesting information and I use this to plan, make choices or learn new things. LIT 0-14a

I enjoy exploring and choosing stories and other texts to watch, read or listen to, and can share my likes and dislikes. LIT 0-0ab/LIT 0-11b

I enjoy exploring events and characters in stories and other texts, sharing my thoughts in different ways. LIT 0-19a

To help me understand stories and other texts, I ask questions and link what I am learning with what I already know. LIT 0-07a/LIT 0-16a/ENG 0-17a

1: Experiences which provide opportunities for small groups of children to listen to a story together, where they can see the illustrations in a book but not in a large setting where engaging with the story is physically too difficult. BtA 7.5.2
2: An environment which has a library rich in books, favourite stories, fiction and non-fiction books, books children have made themselves, recordings of experiences and stories they want to share and tell. BtA 7.5.2
