Words By Tristan Yao

In the lunch area, there are people throwing food! This is terrible because we are so privileged to have enough food to support us while in Ukraine there are children who are starving because of the war. If you see anyone throwing food please report this to lunch aid or yard duty. If we waste food while other children are starving, there would be no point in having food at all. Keep in mind that people are working hard every day to support us with that food.
This Week's Big Question
New Lunches
Have you noticed the new lunches? The chicken wings, the mashed potatoes, English muffins, the turkey sandwiches, and the soft turkey tacos. A student in 3rd grade said they loved the chicken wings and the mashed potatoes. Do you like the new lunches? Tell us your opinion at ty82701@djusdstudents.org

I interviewed Ms. Mendez and these are the questions I asked her. What was her least favorite subject? She said math because she had teachers that focused on reading, not math. The next question I asked her was what her favorite subject was. She said that she loved reading because books took her to a new place.

When I asked her if she have a job before this. She said she was a lifeguard. After that, I asked her what she liked more. She said teaching is more fun than being a lifeguard. That concluded the interview. Ms. Mendez is a super-friendly TK teacher that wants the best for her students and everyone!

I interviewed Ms.Ochsner. She is an amazing teacher. I asked her seven questions. These are the answers. She has been teaching for 7 years. Her favorite animal is a red panda. If she was not a teacher she would be an activist. Her birthday is September 24th. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because she loves to cook. Her favorite color is blue because it is calming and it reminds her of the ocean. She also has a sister named Melissa.

The Infinity Tag Craze

The number of people playing infinity tag has been skyrocketing for the past few days. Our reporters asked some people why they liked the infinity tag: Miles H. said “I like it because there are a lot of people to play with. It's like a battlefield.” Lydia H. said that “ It’s unfair that right after you finish playing rock-paper-scissors, somebody tags you, just when you finish. I think everybody should wait five seconds then start to chase/tag.”
In a truce, you have at least one person watching your back. When you are not in a truce, you don’t have many people to get you up. Sometimes teams of people try to get other teams altogether. Remember you have to give the person who won rock paper scissors a 5-second head start before you can tag them. The numbers don't lie. Infinity tag is the most-played game at recess.
