5th Grade Library

Hi 5th grade! I will be reading the next 4 chapters because I want to be able to finish the book next week. They are short and certainly prove to be exciting. I hope you are doing great and miss all you a lot. 

Chapter 11 - Will We See You Again, Peter

How do you prepare yourself when you have something difficult to face or accomplish? Do you thing about something else or give yourself advice.  In chapter 12 we will find our how Annemarie copes with an important and frightening mission. 

Herring - A type of fish that Uncle Henrik would catch as a fisherman.

Annemarie is from Denmark. It is occupied by the Nazis which is why her family is helping their Jewish friends. Sweden was neutral during World War II. Meaning, it didn't take sides with Germany/Nazis. Because Denmark and Sweden were separated by only a narrow amount of water many Jews could be quickly transported from Denmark to Sweden. The Resistance used the fishing boats as a way of hiding the Jews to transport them to Sweden. (FREEDOM)
