What is Copyright?

Copyright law allows authors, musicians, artists, etc. to make money off of their labor.  

It prevents others from using their work for free. 

It also prevents people from altering the work without permission.
Breaking copyright law is called 

“Copyright infringement”

It can have severe legal consequences.
