Tsachilas Where are the tsáchilas?
The Tsachila indigenous people, traditionally known by the Castilian term Colorados for their custom of painting their bodies and hair red with achiote (bixa orellana), live in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsachila, Santo Domingo canton, Puerto Lemon (Ecuador)
Art Necklaces, bracelets, key chains and spears not only serve as a decorative element. In the Tsáchila culture they are used as an amulet to protect themselves. It is also believed that they attract luck and good energies.
