There once was a shamrock named Pat, Who tripped on a root and went splat, She ripped her best leaf, And sobbed in her grief, And ruined her favourite hat.

Each time you complete an activity, write down (in your LA notebook) one or more new facts that you learned.

Limericks Quiz

You are going to write your own limerick!

Start your limerick with, "There once was a..." (7-10 syllables). The next line should be 7-10 syllables and rhyme with the first. The third and fourth lines should rhyme with only each other and have 5-7 syllables. The last line should be really silly and rhyme with the first 2 in your limerick (7-10 syllables).

Once your poem is ready, record yourself reading it!

Afterwards, add a response to a classmates' limerick.&nbsp;Be sure tell something you like and/or add a suggestion - be positive! Write more limericks about other topics, such as: *Your favourite (or most hated) food *Your pet *Where you live *Your School *A sport *Your dream vacation location

Include images or icons, as well as your text.

The reason limericks are so much fun is because they are short, rhyming, funny, and have a bouncy rhythm that makes them easy to memorize.

The Rules of Limericks

They are five lines long. Lines 1, 2, and 5 rhyme with one another. Lines 3 and 4 rhyme with each other. The first line usually ends with a person’s first name or the name of a place. The last line is usually funny.
