Since I was a little girl, I aspired to be a teacher. I have always loved helping children grow both socially and academically. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and having the opportunity to do this as my career is a dream come true!

There are five important character traits I believe I have that will benefit me in my profession as a teacher. The traits are
Character Trait #1: Empathetic

Being empathetic lets students know that I care about their well-being as well as their academics. I believe that each students' feelings are very important. I feel that creating a safe environment in my classroom allows students to be successful on both their good and difficult days.
Character Trait #2: Determined
I am determined to be a teacher that helps her students improve their skills and also improve my own skills. This may include extra support or re-teaching for students and constant reflection for myself in order to provide my students with a quality education.

Character Trait #3: Energetic

These are some of my students from Kid's Camp having fun singing a song they learned.

I want my students to be eager and excited to learn. Being energetic will allow for more student involvement in the lesson and will keep their attention throughout the lesson. Allowing the students to have fun in the classroom, I feel, is important for building relationships with the students. Learning should be fun!
Character Trait #4: Organized
Having things in order is a strong characteristic I have. Being organized makes for a productive day and school. year. It will also help me with time management and focusing on my students' individual needs and support.
