In the summer I enjoy camping, fishing and the sandy beaches of Lake McConaughy and traveling to amusement parks with my family! During the fall and winter we like to watch football, hunt, ice fish and watch my daughter play volleyball.

As a young adult entering the real world it is important to know how to make and spend money. I will help you experience a world of personal finance, career exploration and entrepreneurship. I'm excited to help you explore, think critically, build, discover, problem solve and virtually collaborate and learn!

This is my 21st year teaching for 27J schools. I have a bachelor and masters degree in Social Studies education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I grew up in the area and attended 27J schools. My husband and I have three sons. All three of my kids go to the same schools I went to at their age! 

I love teaching AVID. Even though it is going to look different this year, I am so excited that we are continuing with the AVID program at Stuart this year! 7th and 8th grade AVID will be semester long classes. 6th grade AVID will be a quarter long. In the AVID class we will focus on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading as well as College and Career Exploration. It's going to look a lot different but we are going to have a great time together!

*1 Exploratory class each quarter *Synchronous Class - 2 days/week (S=Sign on with teacher-attendance required) *Asynchronous Class - 4 days/week (A=At home work)

Getting Started

Some things about me-This is my 6th year at Stuart teaching choir. Both of my daughters went to Stuart. I've lived in Colorado for 18 years with my husband and 2 adopted daughters Renee and Breanna. I'm originally from New Jersey and went to college in New York.  Before I taught choir I was a substitute teacher in 27J, other past jobs include working for the Adams County Food Bank and Hotel Management. I like to listen to a lot of different genres of music and we will be doing that in choir class too! 

Favorites: The Pioneer Woman-I watch her cooking show every Saturday on Food Network. Oprah Winfrey-I saw her at the Pepsi Center! Reading great books! Netflix shows like The Great British Baking Show! Singing in the car!

English Language Development Class

ELD class will be grounded in developing English skills through reading, writing, speaking and listening. We will work through articles to make meaning of learning and transfer that knowledge to other contents.
