The Capital City

Israel's current capital city is Jerusalem. 

<a href="https://www.britannica.com/place/Jerusalem">Jerusalem</a> is a city located in modern-day Israel and is considered to be one of the holiest places in the world. Jerusalem is a site of major significance for the three largest monotheistic religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, and both Israel and Palestine have claimed Jerusalem as a capital city.

The country is very developed in terms of life expectancy, education, per capita income, and other human development index indicators. But the country also has one of the most unequal economies in significant gaps between the&nbsp;rich&nbsp;and&nbsp;poor. A report issued by the OECD in 2016 ranks&nbsp;Israel&nbsp;as the&nbsp;country&nbsp;with the highest rates of poverty among its members. Approximately 21 percent of&nbsp;Israelis&nbsp;were found to be living under the poverty line.<a href="https://datacommons.org/place/country/ISR?utm_medium=explore&amp;mprop=amount&amp;popt=EconomicActivity&amp;cpv=activitySource%2CGrossDomesticProduction&amp;hl=en"> The Gross Domestic Product</a> is approximately 394.7&nbsp;billion USD (2019).

It’s quite a simple recipe – eggs are poached directly in a&nbsp;tomato&nbsp;sauce that’s (usually) flavored with chilies,&nbsp;peppers, onions, and cumin.

The basic combination of chickpeas,&nbsp;tahini, garlic, and lemon is tasty enough on its own, but there are many variations. Some include&nbsp;cumin, many are sprinkled with sumac, and others are topped with&nbsp;pine nuts; there’s even hummus with fried ground meat on top. It might sound a little strange, but hummus is traditionally eaten with large slices of raw, sweet onion.

A simple pastry shaped a little like a boat,&nbsp;khachapuri&nbsp;is stuffed with plenty of cheese and topped with a fried&nbsp;egg. Vendors tend to offer a variety of toppings in Israel, too, filling the pastry with beans for a&nbsp;vegan&nbsp;option or going all-out with prawns,&nbsp;squid,&nbsp;and garlic butter.

It comes from eastern Europe, particularly Poland (babka&nbsp;means small grandmother in Polish), and is essentially a sweetened yeast cake flavored with spices and&nbsp;chocolate, topped with a honey-flavored syrup.&nbsp;

Halvah

Israeli halvah is traditionally made of <a href="https://www.bonappetit.com/story/what-is-tahini">tahini</a> and in the shape of a cylindrical cake. Halva in Israel comes with many mouthwatering flavors to meet everyone’s taste: from typical chocolate and vanilla flavor to pistachio, coffee, coconut, and cinnamon flavor, and many more.

What does the Israeli President do? The position is largely a ceremonial figurehead role, with executive power vested in the Government and the Prime Minister.&nbsp; The President accredits Israel's envoys to foreign countries and accepts the credentials of foreign diplomats serving in Israel. He signs every law enacted by the Knesset and treaties and agreements with foreign countries that have been ratified by the Knesset. The Knesset is the Israeli legislative branch.

Israel is estimated to have about <a href="https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/israel-population/">8,655,535</a> people as its population as of 2020. In total that's about 0.11% of the world's population.

The Yarkon River- flows west through <a href="https://www.lonelyplanet.com/israel/gush-dan">Gush Dan</a> into the Mediterranean Sea

Israel is located North of Egypt and to the right of the Mediterranean sea.
