Fiftieth anniversary of the Ulbra

History of the school
For more than four decades, the Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA) has ensured quality education at the primary, secondary, vocational and higher levels in the country. The beginning was in basic education, when the first school was founded, in Canoas (RS), in 1911. With higher education, the Institution began its activities with Faculdades Canoenses, linked in 1972. Effectively, as a university , has been in existence since 1988, when its creation was decreed, and its recognition by the Federal Council of Education occurred a year later, in 1989.

From the 1980s onwards, Ulbra expanded its educational action beyond the limits of Rio Grande do Sul, since then installing units in six municipalities in the North and Midwest of Brazil, which characterized it as a multicampi. As of 2003, it innovates in higher education and becomes one of the pioneers in distance education, offering undergraduate courses in a virtual learning environment. This process arises as a consequence of his movement for quality education and training of an entrepreneurial professional.

Currently, Ulbra works with the structure of higher education in person and at a distance, with the network of basic education schools and with radio and television stations, which support teaching. In 2014, the sponsor of Ulbra became Aelbra, which drives the Institution's mission to develop, disseminate and guarantee knowledge and culture through Teaching, Research and Extension.

A good teacher for a good class.

Education a way to the future.

Last Friday, 15th, Teachers' Day was celebrated. This profession that shares knowledge and changes the history of those who learn.

Team work
With the science fair close at hand, Portuguese language teacher Suely started a work with the collaboration of her colleagues: teacher Sonia, teacher Marcos Paulo and teacher Lanuze, in the 9th grade class.

First Place
Teacher Suely manages to make students smile even with her unfunny jokes and helps everyone when they have some kind of problem or difficulty. It's the best!

Unity is strength.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Ulbra, a solidary scavenger hunt was started, with the main objective of collecting non-perishable food that will be donated to entities that need it, such as Hopital Dona Regina. As a form of entertainment for the students, the Colégio Ulbra Palmas game is tied by the four teams, each with 10 points.
