SOUTHERN COLONIES
Most of these colonists were young men who were forced to work the land for wealthier farmers. The young men also were angry because without property, they could not vote. Many poor colonists moved inland to find good farm- land. Fighting broke out with Native Americans, and people were killed on both sides. Do you want to live there??? I know you don’t! So come to New England and you wont be badly treated!
MIDDLE COLONIES
In the Middle Colonies, people stole land and slaves were not happy. So…..COME TO NEW ENGLAND AND DON’T WHINE FOR REGIONS!
REASON FOR FOUNDING
The reason for New Englands founding is very cool!
The New England colonies were founded to escape religious persecution in England. The Middle colonies, like Delaware, New York, and New Jersey, were founded as trade centers ( that’s boring ), while Pennsylvania was founded as a safe haven for Quakers.
GEOGRAPHY
The New England colonies were flat along the rocky coastline, which made good harbors. It became hilly and mountainous further inland. The land was covered in dense forests. ... Because the soil was rocky and the climate was sometimes harsh, but don’t mind that.
