A male doctor
by Maja
Once upon a time, there was a boy, a man to be exact. He went by the name of Frank. Just like any other, he had dreams and goals. His biggest one, ever since he was a child, was to become a doctor. He applied to a university, finished at the top of the class and found a job.

Frank never spoke of his achievements, he always said how one should never seek someone else’s approval for one’s successes.

One day, a wounded woman arrived at the hospital requesting urgent care. She had been shot it the abdomen three times; each bullet could cost her life. They needed to be removed quickly. As Frank walked into the operating theater, the woman, on the verge of death, said to him:
“A man? A doctor? Please, find me somebody else, he doesn’t seem trustable, he’s probably a warlock!”
Frank was shocked at her words. A woman on a death bed, whose life depended on him, asking for another doctor because he was a man??? Frank, as he was getting ready for the surgery, explained to the woman that there was no time and that she could be sure he was not a warlock. A nurse also reassured her that Frank was the best doctor in the entire hospital and that she shouldn’t worry. The woman still refused and wanted a female doctor.

So, she got what she had wanted, a doctor with a little less experience, but a female. Her life was saved. She was thankful. She was, as she wanted, operated by a female doctor.

Frank had never felt more oppressed, saddened and just rejected. Had he forgotten about his own words??? Could it be that with all those diplomas and all the knowledge he possessed he was less valuable??? But the other side of him knew that – if he lived for people's acceptance, he would die from their rejection!
*** This is a daily situation women go through. Even with all the knowledge and all the experience they have, they are still being looked down on. Male privilege is real and that is what we should be concerned with. ***
Black or white
by Patrik
Once upon a time
there was a princess named Bella Gray
who lived with her family.
Her mother's name was Anna
and her father's name was Noah.
They lived in a small kingdom
in a big rich castle made of gold.
The castle was really gorgeous!
Princess Bella had beautiful long black hair
and blue eyes.
One morning princess Bella got out of her bed
and saw a beautiful couple through her window.
She asked herself: ''Why wouldn't I have a lover?''
When she got that idea,
she immediately went to tell her father Noah.
He had a conversation with his wife
and they made a deal to organize a party
where princess Bella would be able
to choose her lover.
The news spread all around the kingdom
and a lot of young men wanted princess Bella.
When everyone gathered around,
Bella's parents welcomed everyone and told them
they could take a seat and start eating and drinking. Every one of them was going to have
a name sticker on their shirt.
Princess Bella didn't spot anyone who would fit her.
Until the moment when a young black man walked in.
Princess Bella fell in love at first sight.

Her parents started going crazy
after that young man set a foot in the room.
They told the security guards
to immediately kick him out because of his skin color.
They couldn't even take a look at him.

Princess Bella was really upset
because of her parents' reaction and she started crying.
When they kicked him out,
princess Bella told her parents
she had to use the bathroom
and that she would be back soon.
Actually Bella ran out of the room
through another exit to look for the young man.
She saw him in the garden, sitting on a bench, watching the stars.
She immediately ran to him and told him: '
'I'm sorry about the reaction of my parents.''
He just looked at her and said: ''It's okay.''
She asked him what his name was
and he said his name was Leon.
Princess Bella stuck a sticker with his name
on his shirt and quietly brought him into the castle
through secret passages.
She hid him in a room behind the stage.

It was 11:57pm and it was time
for Bella to choose her lover.
Her parents came to her
and told her to choose one of the young men.
The princess came close to the microphone and welcomed all of the young men there.
She was really scared.
''Welcome, all the young men
who came here because of me!
Before anything else I'd like to say something.
Don't judge someone,
especially because of their race, religion or sexuality!'
Her parents looked at her confused.
The speech didn't last long and the midnight came.
