Long ago there was a girl. She spent her life with her friends and family in a little village in the mountains. Fresh air filled her lungs as she breathed while heading to the heart of the woods. One day she wandered off into the forest and got lost without knowing her way back home. All her attempts to find a way out were met with failure. She became desperate, scared of the beasts walking at night. She was getting tired and cold, her legs gave out and her body got numb - so she decided to sit down. She rested her back on one of the big trees laying her legs on top of the grass. It was the only comfort she could have at the moment. Then a strong wind started blowing among the trees, making the most precious sound of the wild. Its scent reminded her of a mint-flavored candies she used to share with her siblings. She hated the way it tasted and right after eating it, it made her nose itch. Even though the memory was quite random, it made her hearth flutter with both happines and saddnes. Finally, when the night came, her eyes were gettng heavy. It was cold and she had given up, letting her mind and body fall asleep.
All of a sudden, she woke up, being completely in the dark. The trees, rocks, everything - was pitch black. She got up, wondering about the reason behind the darkness that had swallowed everything. She started walking in a dark land, being led by only the light of the fire that was burning inside her chest. She walked on a little pathway, hoping it would get her to an actual useful location, somewhere where she could rest a little longer, or at least to find some light to fix her vision. The mumbles and giggles she heard were concerning her, getting to her head, yet the land was empty. Her vision finally started to fix, making her see that she had started walking in the streets of stone. High – but abandoned – towering buildings were probably blocking the moonlight from the clear sky. She looked up, seeing more trees that reached upward, looking like clawed hands grasping for a hold as they were falling into an abyss. She continued walking forward and, to her suprise, she saw an old man with a hood on, just being there, sitting there hunched. She tried to talk to him, but her words were nothing but whispers which got carried away by the unseen hands. So she just stood there, staring into the man's lacerated hollow coat, waiting for him to speak first.
After some time she realized he was not like her. There was no light in him, only a faint feeling of warmth, letting all the others know he was there. She continued to wander, passing by more than a person could imagine. She eventually came across an abyss and, looking into it, she saw more and more hellish eyes drifting among the darkness. Below, she saw a person with a foggy blue and white glow, its glow representing the freedom and an escape from the reality she was caught in. She took a chance and let herself fall into the person's embrace. She was falling and falling... until it simply started to feel like she was floating on a thin air. Then she gently settled into the forest, where she fell asleep. She opened her eyes in a flicker, seeing little blue lights playing around the trees. She reached her tiny hand to touch them, only for them to spread around and fade, then she pulled back. What was there to do, but to wander endlessly?
She wondered... and began to realize there was no end to this so called adventure. The memories were still there, but she couldn't remember herself. She soon discovered that she, herself, was fading, just like the lights from earlier. What was there to do... but wander again? She remembered, people in her situation never actually came back home, they stayed as general souls that started
existing in an imaginative realm that souls wander through until they fade to nothingness.
And so, without thinking, she closed her eyes... to wander again tomorrow...
