George Herman Ruth also known as “Babe Ruth,” had a somewhat chaotic life. He was born on February 5 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland. He lived a very poor childhood&nbsp; and he got in trouble a lot and he spent a lot of time in an orphanage. He went to school at St. Mary’s and as he was a teenager he gained a lot of fame for playing for the baseball team. He signed for the Oriole&nbsp; minor league team for 600$ per year. The same year he signed for the red sox as a pitcher. After he had a few amazing pitching and hitting years with the red sox he signed with the yankees as a full time hitter. He had amazing hitting numbers with the yankees and he shattered home run records. Which led him to a massive contract with the yankees which may have led to the downfall of his career. In 1936 he was inducted into the baseball hall of fame, and he died in 1948 from syphilis.&nbsp;

George Herman Ruth was one of the most prolific hitters in baseball with 714 home runs. George started out as a pitcher for the Red Sox in which he won 3 world series, then he transferred to the Yankees as a full time hitter with amazing numbers.

He changed the game of baseball from being a pitcher dominant game to a hitter dominant game. When he came into the majors he blew the hitting and home runs records out of the water, it wasn’t even close and it still took a while for someone to break his record and that someone was Hank Aaron.&nbsp;

During his amazing pitching tenure he also played as a hitter and because he was such a good hitter when he wasn’t pitching his manager would put him in the field as a player. But finally he semented that he was an amazing hitter in 1919 when he broke the single season home run record as a pitcher. He hit 29 breaking the previous record of 27. After his amazing home run hitting season he signed with the yankees.

Babe Ruth first emerged onto the scene in 1914 as a pitcher for the red sox. He was the best pitcher in baseball at the time and he won 87 games and had an ERA of 2.16 between the 1915-1919 seasons. 

Babe Ruth joined the Yankees in 1920 for 10,000 dollars a year for 2 years. He joined them as a full time hitter which in his first season he hit 54 home runs and 135 RBIs. In his first few years he was given the nickname “Sultan of Swat,” by a New York newspaper. The next season his home run total went up to 59 and the season of 1922 he got a big raise to 52,000 dollars per year which made him the highest paid baseball player by far. After he got that big raise his homer total dropped by 25 and he only hit 34 out. After he got that raise his career declined and he was never the same again.&nbsp;

Another famous cricket player is Sachin Tendulkar is a very famous Indian former professional cricketer who has served as captain of the Indian team for many years. He is one of the most famous batsmen in the world. He is the highest run-scorer in the history of ODI, the batsman is regarded as the God of Cricket.
