Here's a little bit of New Orleans for you! Mrs. Johnson traveled to New Orleans to accept the American Association of School Librarians Collaborative School Library Award on behalf of the Scotts Ridge Middle School teaching team on June 23rd, 2018.

A Map of Days is the first in a new "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" trilogy that will be published on October 2nd, 2018!

Scott Westerfeld will be returning to the world of Uglies with four new novels. The first is called&nbsp;Impostors, and is due out September 11, 2018! (Lucky Mrs. Shiller has an autographed advanced reader's copy!)

Grammy-nominated musician "Trombone Shorty"&nbsp;and his <a href="https://www.tromboneshortyfoundation.org/">Trombone Shorty Foundation</a> students kick off the conference welcome celebration.

The <a href="http://www.ala.org/news/press-releases/2018/03/scotts-ridge-middle-school-project-receives-aasl-collaborative-school-library">Collaborative School Library Award </a>recognizes and encourages collaboration and partnerships between school librarians and teachers in meeting goals outlined in&nbsp;Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Programs&nbsp;through joint planning of a program, unit or event in support of the curriculum and using school library resources.
