even the word truth was a lie

I moved to London with my family about 5 months ago. I still get confused while going somewhere, so I get lost easily. But that doesn't matter as long as my friends are with me. I was so excited when we moved here. Some of my friends and I decided to meet up. That day started like any other usual one. "Did you understand?" said Mary. I nodded as a "Yes". "Great! I'll be with the girls at the table right next to you."
"But why? I mean this is your letter but I'm the one who is writing it. I understand that you think your handwriting is illegible but maybe you should just sit here and tell me what to write one by one."
"I already told you, I'll come back to check it. Now bye!"
Then I started to write the things she wanted me to write. Suddenly, I heard a voice.
"Can I read please?"
That was Emma's voice.
"I'm sorry Emma, but it's some kind of- private."
"Oh, okay." She seemed upset. Then took my own phone and took pictures of me. Too bad(!) my face didn't appear in the photo.
After a few minutes, Mary came back as she said and asked.
"How is it going?"

"I wrote everything you wanted me to. Uhm, I know you told me this was a letter for your sister and all those unsensible words were like your secret language. Well, I don't mean to tease your entertainment but all those things were so funny even if I didn't understand many of them."
She laughed and said "Yeah, they are. Thanks by the way."
"No problem! And also I added some sentences by copying your words. I hope you don't have a problem with that."
"No, of course not! I bet you made it even better and funnier," she said and laughed. But she had her suspicious smile again.
"It was a lot of fun as I said ,but I could get a cup of tea for the payment," I said and laughed.
"Anything for you," she said and bought me a cup of tea 🤲.
Then we left the cafe to go to the nearest stationery to us in London. She was choosing an envelope but she seemed nervous.
"Lena, can you please do me a last favor?" she asked suddenly.
"I suppose so. What is it?"
"Can you please choose and buy an envelope for me? My mother likes flowers. Especially lilies."
"O-kay, but I thought the letter was for your sister, wasn't it?"
"Uhm, yeah! I mean- It's for both of them!"
"Well then, alright."
After a few minutes of looking at envelopes.
"Hello! May I help you?"
"Thank you, I believe you can. I'm looking for an envelope with flowers on it. If there's one with lilies, that would be much better.
"I'm not sure if we have, but I'll take a look."
"Okay, thank you!"
She laughed and said "Yeah, they are. Thanks by the way."

Suddenly, a wind blew and took the letter that I put on a shelf with it.
"Wait- what? No!" I said and started to try catching the letter. But it went out of the window. Mary finally saw me and asked, "What's happening?"
"Your letter for your mother, I mean sister, I mean for both of them it just went out of the window!"
"Oh, no! We NEED TO find that piece of paper or else!"
"Calm down! There's no need to worry about it. We can just-"
"YES, THERE IS A NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT!" she shouted and started to run. She didn't even wait for me!
"If it was 'that' important, why did you want me to write it for you?"
"No time for talking, just look for the letter!"
We looked for it everywhere but couldn't find it. Then I felt tired and saw a bank. I walked towards it to have a rest. Mary came right after me.
"Don't worry, I'll just write a new one and we'll send it safely to your sister, I mean your mother, I mean-"
"We don't need any other letters to be written, we need to find the one you wrote."
"What kind of letter are you talking about?" asked the stranger man sitting next to us.
