The Effects of Nonverbal Communication
Nonverbal communication is the transmission of messages through nonverbal ways such as eye contact, hand gestures, facial expressions and much more.

We all use this form of communication in our everyday lives and it have an impacting effect. All of the nonverbal gestures we make when we are communicating, such as hand gestures or your tone of voice, send a strong message. these nonverbal behaviors can sometimes put people at ease and build trust between two people but they can also offend and confuse people.

Nonverbal communication can be misleading as you can be saying one thing but your body language can be conveying a different message which might lead someone to thing you aren't being honest with them. These mixed signals can be confusing and complicate communication but by effectively understanding and improving your use of nonverbal communication you will be able to express what you are meaning better, be able to connect to others better and gain trust easier whilst building stronger relationships.

Factors effecting Interpersonal Communication
There are many factors that effect interpersonal communication. Some of these factors include cultural diversity, emotional difference, past experiences and intellectual differences

Cultural diversity
Cultural diversity makes communication between two culturally different people difficult due to their cultural differences such as the language, signs and symbols they use. In different cultures there are different meaning for words, gestures and even there behaviors. A difference in cultures also brings out prejudices and ethnocentrism which is evaluating another culture according to your own cultures beliefs and practices.

Emotional differences
Being emotionally aware when communicating is extremely important. If you are emotionally aware, your communication will instantly be better. You will be able to notice others emotions and how they are influenced by your form of communication and this will also give you a better understanding on what other people are communicating to you and why.

Some important factors to consider when it comes to being emotionally aware with communication are to consider other peoples feelings, consider your own feelings, have empathy when communicating and to communicate with trust.

Past experiences
Past experiences play an important role in peoples communication. People learn a lot from their past experiences because they can change their entire outlook and attitude on life as well as their communication with others. Past experience directly effects ones communication and how two people can see the same topic of communication differently.

Intellectual differences
Intellectual differences can have a great impact on communication. the difference in intellect between two people when communicating can influence the meaning of the conversation differently for the two people.
If they have similar educational qualifications, communication will be effective as they are likely to have the same base of knowledge and past experience.

Emotion and its Impact on Communication
Competence of Interpersonal Communication
When it comes to communication, emotion and your awareness of emotion is extremely important. When communicating, if you are emotionally aware, the communication will instantly become better.

Being emotionally aware whilst communicating means that you will be able to notice other peoples emotions and how they are influenced by your form of communication, both verbal and nonverbal, and this will also give you a better understanding on what other people are communicating to you and why.

These are some important things to focus on when you are wanting to communicate with emotional awareness. First to consider the other persons feelings, then to consider your own feelings, to ensure you are showing empathy towards the other personal and this will help gain a mutual level of trust and create good emotionally aware communication.
