The Rialto Bridge

This bridge is called a stone arch bridge because it is made of stone and has an archway! 

The bridge was created to grant access to the Rialto Market, which is always growing in size. This is a picture of my friends walking down a side street to get to the Rialto Bridge so we can get to the market!

The Rialto Bridge is located in Venice, Italy.

It goes over the Grand Canal, which is the name of the waterway below it!

I decided to write a book about this bridge because...

I loved how beautiful the view was, and it still takes my breath away looking at the pictures!

Here are some fun facts about the Rialto Bridge!

This is NOT the Rialto Bridge, but it’s an example of all of the stairs!

The bridge was originally going to be designed by Michelangelo, however, architect Antonio da Ponte ended up designing the Rialto!

The walkway of the bridge is made up of mostly stair steps, so it is extremely difficult for strollers or wheelchairs to use, just like the rest of Venice!
