Dr Martin Luther King Jr was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the second of three children to Michael King and Alberta King. King had an older sister, Christine King Farris and a younger brother, Alfred Daniel "A.D." King. Alberta's( Dr Kings mom) father, Adam Daniel Williams was a minister in rural Georgia. he moved there in 1893. Shortly after marrying Alberta, King sr became assistant pastor at a church. Senior Williams passed away in 1931. King Sr took the role and after returning home in 1934 after going on a multinational trip, he changed his name to Martin Luther King and changed his sons Name to Martin Luther King Jr. In his childhood, him and his family would read the bible. In 1941, he skipped out of studying to watch a parade. He was informed that his grandmother had suffered a heart attack and died. He took it very hard and thought him skipping was the reason she died. He tried to commit suicide because of the incident but survived. His father told him not to blame himself for the death

EDUCATION

Dr Martin Luther King Jr went to four schools. The schools he went to were Morehouse College(1944 - 1948), Crozer Theological Seminary (1948 - 1951), School of Theology(1951- 1955) and Booker T Washington High School. During King's junior year in high school, Morehouse College, an all male historically black college that his father and maternal grandfather had gone to,began accepting high school juniors who passed the school's entrance examination.As World War II was underway many black college students had been enlisted in the war, decreasing the numbers of students at Morehouse College. King got in. The summer before he was a freshman, he went on a train to Connecticut. It was his first trip outside the segregated south. King was also able to get into Crozer Theological Seminary.Kings father supported him. He also got into school of theology. He also went to many churches.

King got married to Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953 on the lawn of her parents' house in her hometown of Heiberger, Alabama. They became the parents of four children: Yolanda King (1955–2007), Martin Luther King III (b. 1957), Dexter Scott King (b. 1961), and Bernice King (b. 1963). During their marriage, King limited Coretta's role in the civil rights movement, expecting her to be a housewife and mother.
