Worldview Poems

Who are you again? Are you sure? Sorry, I thought you were the Same person It’s all the same The Same, the Same, the Same. Cut my hair, dye my hair Change my clothes, change my personality Still the exact. Same. Just a carbon copy. Matching. Identical. Clone. Duplicate. 1 and 2. But we’re no robots But now we’re not so much the Same. Separate. Different. Contrasting but complementary. but still the Same base. To me, it’s always been this way. I look in the mirror, and it’s just me staring back So why did the world see double?

It sounds distinct and unique It looks individual, incomplete, and strong It walks with purpose and intent It behaves in a curious pattern It smells like experience and maturity Others are mesmerized by it and all it represents The room enamoured by the power it holds It speaks volumes without a sound Worldview is a shapeshifter It creates and destroys

Our Earth is train wreck The climate going off the rails We stand there and watch helplessly And really we’re just the passengers letting out wails Our generation is the conductor, who’s completely lost hope We’re heading off the tracks at full speed but it’s fine, we’ll cope.

The ocean like a big blue blanket The smell of salty sea air Wet waves crashing on the sand Freckles and sunburns on your face Sand squeaking in your shoes Melted popsicles dripping down your hands Joyfully jumping off docks and paddle boards Wet salty hair clinging to your face Stepping on barnacles and going boating The ocean is my home
