Location Panama is located in central America between the countries of Colombia and Costa Rica. Panama is the southernmost country in the continent of North America.

The Canal The Panama Canal is an 82 kilometer man made waterway that connects the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. It was created so that ships would not have to travel around South America. Locks are used to help ships pass from one water level to another.
