3D Doodler Examples
What is it? A 3D pen that extrudes heated plastic, then cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, allowing for the free-hand creation of 3D objects.

How is it being used as a learning tool? Design thinking & prototyping, NGSS activities, ELA, Language & Math enrichments, Special Education, interactive stories, digital portfolios, research journals, poetry books, science reports, and "All About Me" stories.

3D Printing
3D Printing Examples
What is it? - 3D printers are a tool that can help students take what they design in a software program, and make it a tangible real object. There are many different printers available, and many brands have come down in price for a school purchases.

How is it used as a learning tool? - A history lesson on how 3D printing has and is affecting the lives of people from prosthetics and organ replacement, to being able to replace a part that broke on your television remote are some simple, but, real examples to share with students. This background knowledge heightens student's interest, and begins an amazing process of engagement, problem solving, experiencing failure, and real world thinking. 3D printing and design can start at any level with apps that make it easy to sketch your design, and to software that allows you to build more complex ideas.
