Three people I'd like to meet

So many amazing people have blessed this planet with their presence. I would consider it an honor to meet any of them. There are scientists who have cured diseases and religious figures who have healed humankind with their words and actions. To compile a list of the greatest people would take many people many years. However, if given an opportunity to sit down and speak with just three of them, those three would have to be Martin Luther King Jr, Jules Verne, and Walt Disney.
Martin Luther King Jr had a massive impact on the American civil rights movement, pushing for equal rights through his many speeches to the public. He spoke strongly and passionately, and I would like to meet him because that kind of speaking and elocution is something I would like to get better at.
Jules Verne is a very big inspiration for me when writing. I enjoy reading and writing fiction, and the works of Jules Verne have changed science fiction. He wrote about technologies and ideas that were very ahead of his time. I would like to ask him about how he came up with and developed those ideas into his famous stories.
Walt Disney is still a huge figure in animation and filmmaking. He was very creative, and is a big inspiration for me. Given the opportunity to talk with him, I would ask him about where he got all of his ideas, and how he stayed creative.

statues (flash fiction)

One day, a boy was walking along a path in a park. In one hand he held a sketchpad, in another, a simple charcoal pencil. He walked further, searching for something worth drawing. Then, suddenly, he saw a statue. It was old, covered in vines and long-dead leaves. He frowned. He had never seen this particular statue before, and he had been through every inch of this park. It was of a kneeling man, face contorted in startlingly realistic pain. The boy touched it gently. After a second, he shrugged, and sat down to sketch it.
He had only just finished a rough outline when something burned in his index finger. Wincing, he looked down at it and gasped, pencil falling out of his hand. The tip of his finger had turned a dull shade of gray, right where he had touched the sculpture. As he watched, it spread slowly to the knuckle, then to the base of his next finger. Almost like it was becoming… stone.
The boy’s immediate shock was overcome with curiosity. He placed his sketchpad down and approached the statue. As he felt the worn-down material of the sculpture, he frowned. He really had never seen this statue before. Where had it come from?
The stone was spreading up his arm. He tried moving his fingers, but he found that they were frozen in place.. The stone burned its way through his body, the pain white-hot and unbearable. He could do nothing against it. All he could do was kneel to the floor and pray for the torment to subside. He was more than relieved when the stone closed over his eyes and painted the world black.
They renamed the park Garden of the Tortured. The hundreds of tormented statues attracted people from all over the world to look, but not, under any circumstances, touch.
