5 Hints on How to Spot a Duster

Definition 

The definition of a duster is “Someone who is garbage at everything with no skill at anything they do especially hockey.”

Hint #1

A dead give away to spot the biggest duster on the ice is the guy with the tinted visor. This player believes that if you can’t see what he is looking at you don’t know what he is going to do. He also believes that the tinted visor sets him apart from everyone else so that the scouts in the crouds will notice him better. 

Hint #2

This second hint wouldn’t seem to be evident for a non hockey player but when you look down at a player’s skates and notice the extreme bend in the ankle area it becomes more apparent. If you spot a player with a bend in their ankles with a degree of bigger than 85° - 95° than you have yourself a duster. 

Hint #3

The third hint also has to do with skates. If a player has the infamous T Blades on the skates it is a clear sign that you are in the presence of a duster. These skates were create back in the early 2000s and were designed to transform speed from your skates to the ice better. This concept never caught on in the mainstream but the dusters took it to the extreme.  

Hint #4

Another sign that you have spotted a duster is their choice of vocabulary. Dusters will chirp anything that moves. If you don’t know what a chirp is, well it is “ the act of insulting another person with interesting vocabulary to make yourself feel better.” For example saying to an opponent “ Better be careful, your coach might find out you're out here.” Or as shown above “Hey goalie, I’ve seen coupons save more than you.”

While playing hockey you may notice a opponent with the candycane stick wrap. This is a tactic that is used by dusters to get as much grip on their stick as possible. Dusters are usually lacking control of their stick and by wrapping their stick in tape they believe that this will help.
