North America

This continent is home to 23 countries. Greenland is part of this continent and it is the largest island in the world. About 580 million people live on the North American Continent.

This continent holds the longest mountain range, The Andes. It also holds the tallest waterfall, the Angel Falls. The driest place on earth is also located here, the Atacama Desert in Chile. About 430 million people live on this continent.

Asia is the largest continent of the 7. About 4.6 billion people live here. There are over 2,300 languages spoken in Asia. The tiny country of Qatar is one of the richest countries in the world because of oil exploration and the petroleum industry.

Africa

Africa has the most countries within it counting 54. About 1.3 billion people live here. The oldest human fossils were found in Africa. Africa holds the longest river in the world, the Nile.

Australia

This is the smallest continent out of the 7. It is also known as Oceania. About 43 million people live here. Australia itself is the largest landmass, but New Zealand, Vanuatu and many other islands are also part of this continent.
