Kids Protesting on Streets
Introduction
¨Ow!" Dust plunged into my eyes. I tried to keep it out. I rubbed them. We are farmers during the Great Depression. Me and my folks live in the Panhandle of Texas, and we are severely suffering from the dead crops and animals. To add onto that, we are experiencing the deadly Dust Bowl. Mama and Pa want to try to stay in Texas, and try their best to survive. But, I think that it is best to move on and try to find more prosperous land and a better life. Moving would benefit us by not growing spoiled crops, actually earn money and get a successful job, and survive during this depressing time.

Spoiled Crops
One thing that would happen if we stayed in Texas is that the crops were getting spoiled. There were no large scale programs that could distribute the unused food. Without our crops, we aren´t getting any money. We also don´t have enough food and livestock. It was truly hard to survive in this condition. Many folks had already left Texas for good. They went to California, where they weren't hit by the drought. There was also a gold rush, and they could get some oranges. In California, most folks went to Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay area.
