Most of the other colonies were founded for religious freedom. But not this one. The New England Colonies were founded to purify the Church of England. Also they were kicked out of Massachusetts for not following the right religion.

The New England Colonies have a very rocky coastline. They have long winters and short summers. Also the New England Colonies had rocky soils which makes farming very hard. In most of the other colonies farming is very easy because they have soft soils. But The New England Colonies do have lots of trees which is good for lumbering.

There are so many ways to make money especially in the New England Colonies. The New England Colonies have lots of fish and whales in their lakes and oceans. So fishing and whaling are big industries in the New England Colonies.
