An overview of why we should eliminate the use of plastic bags. This was made as a demo project for students who were creating books about the need to recycle oyster shells.

Bags litter our landscape and are lightweight enough to travel long distances with the wind.

It can take anywhere between 20-1,000 years for a plastic bag to break up (it will never break down).

Ask that your groceries NOT be double bagged.

Bags are made using &nbsp;a lot of energy resources which we are quickly running out of.

Consider gifts of reusable bags for family and friends.

Beaufort County has banned plastic bags since November 1, 2018.
