About us

Our school was built in 1982. We are named after Mary Elton, a member of the Elton family of Clevedon Court. Mary was a Victorian benefactress who had a particular interest in the education of the children in Clevedon.
We educate boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 11. The total number of pupils is usually between 400 and 420. Each of our year groups has two parallel classes, with about 30 children in each.

Our Values

Becoming a part of this school includes accepting our school values: keeping each other safe, achieving our goals and helping others when they are feeling down or worried.

This is where our safeguarding team come in they help pupils with worries or unsettlements. Being a very important part of our school, the safeguarding members are also our teachers who help puplis through their incredible primary years. Mrs Athorn, our learning mentor, explains more ...

Our fun curriculum

At Mary Elton School we want our children to be:

- engaged by learning that develops and challenges them and excites their imagination.

Creativity is at the heart of our journey of learning. We endeavour to provide a rich and diverse curriculum, linked to the real world, teaching children important key skills, attitude, and a love of learning which encourages children to think outside the box.
