Ina-May PeteroIt was a normal Wednesday, Nadia and I were almost finished our paper-run, we only had one house left to drop a paper off at.
Every week Nadia and I would help this old man. He lived down a steep driveway and it was hard for him to walk up it, so we always took his paper up to him.

We parked up our bikes and started heading towards his front door, we knocked softly and he opened the door for us. This time it was different, he welcomed us in and said “Are you going to come in and say hi?”
Nadia and I were curious as we always thought he lived alone. Unwillingly, we shuffled inside but everything went strange and behind us he shut and locked the door.
Not thinking anything of it.
Nadia and I followed him a couple steps forward. Then he pointed us into a room and It all went down hill from there.
With a smile on his face he said “This is my care-taker, Robin”.

We walked in the room and screamed, but the old man covered both of our mouths. Lying on a chair in the corner of the room, was Robin, his care-taker dead bleeding out everywhere.
He kept his hands over mine and Nadia's mouth and walked us to his basement. The basement was filled with bikes and missing people posters. He tied us up to a chair and duct taped our mouths, he also said “I'm going out, I've got a camera in here and will be checking it regularly”.

The old man left the house to go to the pub. Nadia and I tried our best to get free but our hands were too tight together and we weren't able to wriggle out. About an hour later he returned home.
“Oh no!!" It's dark outside who knows what our parents are thinking,” murmured Nadia” with the duct tape still over her mouth.
Suddenly, we heard a knock at the door, who could that be I thought. Then I recognised the voice “ITS MY MUM” I tried screaming louder hoping she would hear me, Nadia was also screaming. We stayed quiet for a bit to see what they were talking about, then we heard my mum say “ok then thank you for your time have a good afternoon”.

We screamed “NOOO CINDY, WE ARE IN THE BASEMENT”!!
She was just walking off, she turned and said “what was that?”
He just replied “ohh i'm not sure it must be the neighbour’’. My mum left with a strange feeling inside her, “I swear I heard some screaming,” she said to herself.” I'm just going to ring the cops so they can search the old man's house”.
The police arrived and we heard another knock at the door. “Who could that be this time we both murmured”, we then heard, “Sir we got a complaint saying you could be holding some girls hostage”.
With a shakey voice he replied “What nooo who said that ''?
Nadia and I thought that if we both screamed as loud as we could the police officer would hear us.
