The black tailed jackrabbit has grayish brown hare. The jackrabbit has black tipped ears and its belley is white. The tail has a black mid- dorsal stripe that runs up onto the back. This hare never turns white in winter, and it molds only once a year.

You can get rabbit chow grains and hay at a feed store.

In the wild the black tailed jackrabbit eats alfalfa, clovers, sagebrush, bark, twigs and dandelions. 

The black tailed jackrabbit should watch out in the wild for a gray wolf  because that's their predator. And that's why they should be careful in the wild.
