In this edition, we have articles about The Goldilocks show, our fantastic fish, P7 leavers hoodies and loads more! Get ready to be blown away by our amazing Drumblade Rag!
Sports Sponsorship
On the 21st of March 2022 the Drumblade P6/7 class did a sports marathon to raise money for their residential to Loch Insh. Over the course of the day the pupils played 4 sports including football, rugby, dodgeball and rounders. The day ran like a tournament, whilst 2 teams were playing, the other two were inside doing quiet tasks such as, art and education games. These activities were important to relax, refuel and rest before a game.
Everyone came to school wearing their PE kit ready for a busy day. All pupils were split into teams. These were called: The Cheese, The Cherries, The Chocolate and The Cheeseburger.
Football was the first sport of the day, The Cheeseburger team showed great skills and won all of their games. After the break the class played rugby. Lots of tries were scored. In rugby there were 2 teams faced each other. The Cherries won 3 out of 3 rounds of rugby. Dodge ball was enjoyed by all. In rounders the teams merged and P6 played P7, it was a very competitive match!
Conclusion over all we earned £599 which is a great success! Thank you to all who sponsored.

Residential Extravaganza
In the last week of the 3rd term the P67 got to go to Loch Insh for their residential trip. At Loch Insh they stayed at Insh hall for the full week. They went on Monday and came back after lunch on Friday. At Loch Insh they did heaps of fun activities that the pupils enjoyed. The most popular activity was SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding).
At Loch Insh P6/7 were very resilient and followed instructions well which avoided too many injuries but we did have one person who fell victim to the dry ski slope, who is now ok.

This is P6/7 after lunch getting ready for there first activity.
After Loch Insh we did a survey seeing what everyone liked and what they didn't like about Loch Insh. These are the results.
Who was your favorite instructor?
What was your favorite part about the whole experience?
At Loch Insh we had different instructors for different activities. For Sailing some people had Kristy and others Murray. We had Alistair for archery and some people had him for problem solving. Dale took the rest of the groups for problem solving. Charlotte took us kayaking and Luke did skiing with us. But our favorite Instructor is Murray.
The whole experience was really great and fun. Some people's favourites were the activities and trying new sports, others were the rooms that they were in or eating sweets at bedtime! The food that we got was great and having no family around for a week was quite fun.
What was the worst part?
At Loch Insh, almost all the trip was good although sometimes things went bad... Mrs Berry woke us up early on the Friday as an April Fools joke! Some people did not have the best experience with some activities and somebody was sick at the back of the bus on the way back.
What We Ate

Over the week we had a variety of food to eat for supper. On the first night we had macaroni and on the second night we had steak pie and leading to the third night where we had burgers and onto the final night we had pizza.
Breakfast
Everyday from Tuesday to Friday we had the same breakfast throughout the week. There was a variety of foods for us to have for breakfast, such as bacon, scrambled egg, toast, beans, tattie scones, cereal, hash brown and sausages.

Each day we got a packed lunch that the loch Insh team made for us. There were a bunch of flavour options. In the packed lunch we got a sandwich, a bag of crisps, a piece of fruit and a yogurt.

This is P6/7 ice skating
The whole school has been working on shows based on the fairy tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears looking at the story from different perspectives. The Nursery have been working on retelling the original tale.
Lights, Camera, Action! By Evie, Emily and Izzy
P6/7
Primary 6/7 did a courtroom drama based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Goldilocks was on trial for breaking and entering, vandalism and theft. The class made everything from the script to the props. There was fierce competition for parts but everyone worked hard putting their acting skills to the test. Despite some difficulties along the way like sickness, P6/7 managed to work together to get this show on screen.
P4/5
Primary 4/5 turned a news article into a show. In the show they went out and interviewed Goldilocks' parents and neighbours to find out their version of events. They made their own costumes and props that ended up wowing the crowds, which Jacob really enjoyed. Even though some parts did not make it into the final cut, it still looked amazing.
P1/2/3
Primary 1/2/3 were doing the Goldilocks` story from the bears point of view. They used their imagination to make their scenery and props. Their performance was very good, especially how they switched up different actors for the main characters in each scene so that everyone had a part to play.

Nursery
The Nursery were doing the original Goldilocks story. They were practising their reading and acting skills while they recorded their show. They also learned some songs and makaton along the way. Their way of filming was completely different and unique to the rest of the school. We think the nursery did an amazing job memorising all of their words. Some of the P1,2,3s enjoyed helping the Nursery with their makaton.

Watching
Once all the films had been edited and finished the whole school came together to watch the different versions that they had worked on. There was a surprise in store when the teachers produced some popcorn, Lucy and Cameron particularly enjoyed this. There were laughs and cheers during this great cinematic experience.

All the hard work was worth it because the shows looked very good and professional. Even if there were mishaps it made it funnier. Everyone really enjoyed making it too! The show was released 28th April 2022.
