Once upon a time......wait no this isn't a fairy tale. This is real....an actual real BIG problem. I didn't think there was a problem until I actually opened my eyes and thought about what we've been doing to the earth. It was Monday, December 2nd. I heard the beeping of my alarm clock and my mom hollered from the hallway to Wake UP! I did NOT want to go to school. I just got the new ForkKnife video game and I wanted to stay home and play all day.Loading...

I slumped into school despising every second of the day. School was the worst. It was boring. All the teachers talked about was math, history and English. Will we ever use this in our real life? NO! Then science class began and that's when my teacher Mrs. H. changed my life.Loading...

I was walking home and thinking about what Mrs. H. said. I looked up and squinted at an old rusty billboard. It was faded but appeared it had once been a rainbow of color. It showed goals that looked like they were for helping people and our earth.
As I continued to walk I started to notice things I had never cared about before. I saw trash scattered everywhere at our beautiful park. I saw teenagers grumbling about life and having to go to school. Then at the soccer field a boy was not letting a girl play. I realized the Global Goals were actually important and something that we need to fix.
The next day, I went to our school library and asked the librarian if she had any books on the Global Goals. She led me to the Global Goal section which I never knew we had. I found a very interesting book about something I had never heard of called The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It was twice the size of Texas and filled with tons of trash and plastic.

When I got to school I told Mrs. H. about the Global Goals and said we really need to act fast! She gasped and said "You are right Kevin! We need to organize a plan to teach everyone about the Global Goals." So I told all my friends and every person I saw. I even posted on SnapTalk to get the word out about Global Goals. As I got older, I decided to travel the world and I saw people living in poverty with little to nothing. Then I realized that we all need to pitch in and make a difference.
I started to eat healthier and exercise.
I organized a community food pantry.
I started an entire town trash pick up day.
I inspired folks to clean the earth.
