Welcome to my Cultural Universals project on Peru! In this book you will learn all of the cultural universals of Peru, Economics, Beliefs, Cultural Arts, Social Aspects and Politics!

How people live together in communities or groups.
Education
Peruvians go to school for 11 years. First Peruvians go to grade school. Grade school last 6 years. Then Peruvians go to secondary school. Secondary school lasts 5 years. Peru has public and private schools. Public schools are free. Private schools costs money. Peru also has religious schools. In school, Peruvians do Science, Math and Spanish classes. There are also music, art and physical education. But, there is a problem. Peru doesn't have a lot of schools. Luckily the government is building small schools so more children can go to school.
Clothing
Peruvians wear lots of different types of clothes. The first one is traditional clothing. Peruvians wear traditional clothing when they work on farms. Peruvians that live in cities wear North American clothes. Some women wear full skirts called polleras. Some women wear mantas around their shoulders. Mantas are brightly colored. Some men wear chullos. These are caps that cover their ears.

Peruvians live in small houses usually Peruvians have three or four children in their house. Some children have grandparents to live with. Peruvians eat a lot of seafood. Peruvians also eat Piqueo. Piqueo is the main meal of Peruvians meal. Hot peppers are a good snack in Peru. Some Peruvians that live near the sea like peppers with fish. Corn on the cob is a favorite vegetable. But the most important food in Peru are potatoes. Hundreds of kinds of potatoes grow in Peru. Growing potatoes is a job that you can do in Peru.
