Middle Colonies

The Dutch came to settle in the area to start fur trading posts.However, the British wanted this land for themselves so that the British settlers in New England could create new trade routes.

Quakers got the name Quakers because they tend to quake in certain situations. The Quakers are also known as the religious society of friends.

People in the middle colonies made money by farming. The farmers grew wheat, corn, vegetables, and tobacco. Other colonist became miners, sailors, trappers, lumbermen, and merchants. Some workers were indentured servants or enslaved africans.

Why should you go to New England and have to follow what the Puritans say? Come to the Middle colonies and become a Quaker.

Do not live around slavery at the Southern colonies! Be free and have a fun life in the Middle colonies.

New York's geography made it a good place to settle.Winters in New York were cold,and the summers were hot and humid.There are also lot's of minerals such as iron and we also have cole here too.
