The Great Google Drive Clean Up
Edtech Hints & Tips
Daniel Bull, Head of Digital Engagement
As we seek to manage our storage on the Google platform, how has your clean up gone?

Our goal:
To have efficiently managed cloud storage.
You can measure it in this way. Should your Google account (all your My Drive files) get deleted there would be no adverse effect on your colleagues or students.

Why?
Efficiency - we want to be able to access necessary information and share it appropriately.
Cost - we reduce cost by reducing the amount of storage used.
Being green - less storage = less servers = healthier planet.

Doing your part
1) Have you managed to delete unnecessary files?
2) Have you moved resources and student files to a Shared Drive?
3) Have you managed to get your storage under 20GB?

Join the challenge now for Google Storage optimisation.

LAT Google Trainers
Digital Spotlight
Daniel Bull, Head of Digital Engagement
On the 9th December we gathered representatives from our academies to undertake a Google Trainer Bootcamp.

Google is an integral part of our digital toolkit at LAT so it has always been high on our priorities to ensure our staff are trained and equipped to use these great tools.

All teaching staff and many other staff have done their part in this by becoming Google Level 1 Certified Educators. Now we want to support and upskill some who want to go that bit further and support their colleagues in the use of Google.

Being a Google Trainer means you become part of a global family of 9,000 other trainers. This means you get amazing support, encouragement and opportunities.

Those who attended the bootcamp will be submitting their applications in the coming week. Find out who your Google Trainer is and both encourage them and celebrate their achievement.

Leigh Academies Trust is truly making a splash in the use of technology, and this is just another example of how we are seeking to provide a world class digital strategy and deliver education for a better world.
