Getting learning off to a flying start.
Aspire nurseries, led by qualified and knowledgeable staff, lay firm foundations for children in their early years. A qualified teacher from each school oversees the curriculum, learning environments and learning outcomes in conjunction with the Nursery Lead. Staff strive to ensure all children have an equal chance of success, informed by knowledge of what can be achieved.
Our nurseries, the children, families, our dedicated teams and the local community, are an integral part of the Aspire Academy Trust. We recognise the need for high quality early education where children flourish through the love and care given by all of our practitioners.
We know the importance for our nurseries to have strong and respectful partnerships with parents so every child can develop during their early years and that everyone plays an active role in ensuring this is successful.

I was one of the founder members of the Trailblazers team, who first created a nursery provision at Treverbyn in 1997.
We strive for the best possible outcomes for all children using the Early Years Foundation Stage, recognising that every child is unique. We provide high quality care through a well-motivated, knowledgeable and committed team of practitioners. We create a wide range of fun opportunities for all children, enabling them to learn through their play, build friendships and develop confidence.

We believe that high quality outside spaces are essential to a child’s holistic development. Our outdoor learning environment includes a mud kitchen, a bug hotel and fire pit, in addition to opportunities for tree climbing and den building. These all enable children to take risk in our safe environment.
We are proud of our 'Good' grading from Ofsted (July 2019). It highlighted children’s behaviour as exemplary, stated that children understand and follow the rules exceptionally well and have the utmost respect for others and their environment.

Early Years CurriculumLoading...
The Early Years Foundation Stage (often called the EYFS) is a crucial part of a child’s education. In nursery, the children's days consists of play-based learning and some structured, adult-led activities, both indoors and outdoors. Our curriculum is designed to allow all children to develop their independence and social skills, enabling them to grow into happy, confident learners who are ready to start the next stage of their journey in school. Click this link to read more about the EYFS framework.Loading...

Nursery Uniform
Children have the choice of wearing a royal blue Treverbyn Academy sweatshirt or cardigan. These can be bought from local supermarkets or high street stores, or if you would like one with a Treverbyn Academy logo, these can be ordered from https://www.cornwallscreenprint.co.uk/
Children in nursery will spend a great deal of time outdoors, so they need a pair of wellies and a waterproof coat / all-in-one suit.

Learning Together
"Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child’s day wherever you are"
Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children’s learning and development both at school and home.
Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal that builds over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments will be made available regularly to you via your iPhone or Android App.
More details on how to activate your Tapestry account will be shared once your child starts.

Safeguarding
"We have a commitment to safeguard our children.
"We all have a responsibility to act if we are worried about a child.
All children have a right to be safe no matter who they are or what their circumstance.
"Keeping children safe is everyone's responsibility."

Every academy and nursery within the Aspire Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be
contrary to the child's welfare.
