Learning Advance 2022

One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the fog on the treesbecause  it just looks so good.

Loon Lake is an overnight camp area owned by UBC, where people can come to spend some time either for fun, or with your school/education to learn.

This book is showing my learning from Loon Lake, and my overall experience there.

I think this is a great photo because I love all of the different shades of green. I also love the fading moss, from a vibrant moss to a darker moss. I also like the fern, looking kind of like a big spider.

Loon Lake was overall, ok. I liked the change in learning, it was a nice difference from the regular day, so I liked it in that way. I liked how all the classes were in comfortable, different areas, and that we didn’t just sit in a room all day, we actually did things, played games and went outside. I liked the battle archery and the laser tag, I hadn’t played laser tag in YEARS, and I have never tried battle archery, and they were both really fun!

We are going to do some DI, and I am going to work on my destination imagination and improv skills.

I have never done an escape room before, so I really want to try one. I have seen them before, I have watched videos, so I really want to try an escape room. That is why I want to try an escape room, they look so fun!

In DI, we did a lot of preparing and making ideas. We came up with some ideas for certain situations, like if we got a festival, we came up with multiple ideas for that festival.

In advisory today, we did some spreading of love with compliments that everyone said from each night of the camp. Mr. Hughes had lots of fun giving them out.

Today we learned how to make a shelter in case we have to spend a night in the wild. We learned how to make an a-frame, tee-pee, and a lean-to.

Today for our advisory, we had to make a video for this book. I didn’t know what to do for the book, so I just took a video while we were doing it.

We spent 2 hours in the gym with all of the grade 8’s, learning both the things we were going to do in the gym, and the things we were going to do in the pan abode. We did both learning, and playing games like silent ball.

Loon lake can tell me that at other PLP field studies, there will be some form of learning mixed in with fun activities from the area that we are going to. At Loon Lake, we had an orienteering session to know what the place we are staying at is. This tells me that we will have more of these competitions to know the area around where we are.
