We have had two children go to Penryn Primary, one still in Year 5.&nbsp;Penryn Primary is a school that offers many opportunities, making it a fun place to learn. The staff are hardworking, recognising and responding to each child’s individual needs.&nbsp;We find the staff approachable, supportive, respectful and knowledgeable.&nbsp;The school provide a great range of activities such as forest school, swimming and class treats.&nbsp;We love the inclusive nature of the school making it a valuable stepping stone to senior school.

Trauma Informed Schools UK is a registered community interest company working in association with the Centre for Child Mental Health. It provides training to ensure that every adult in a school or community has the skills and understanding to respond appropriately to the relational and emotional needs children may display. TiS supports schools to create a mentally healthy environment and culture in which all within the school community, adults and children alike, can flourish and achieve. It advocates a whole school response and evidenced based relational approaches to provide an enriched environment to buffer the impact of stress that may&nbsp;result from adversity and painful life events. In addition, specially trained Trauma and Mental Health Informed Practitioners offer targeted intervention&nbsp;to&nbsp;children who may be experiencing challenges within their life that without support may act as a barrier to&nbsp;their ability to fully engage with life and learning.&nbsp;

"Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child&#8217;s day wherever you are"

Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children’s learning and development both at school and home. Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal that builds over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments will be made available regularly to you via your iPhone or Android App. More details on how to activate your Tapestry account will be shared once your child starts.

Autograph is the catering company who offer our children a great school meal and fun dining experience. Led by Clare and Sarah in the kitchens, meals are cooked from scratch using fresh, high quality and sustainable ingredients. Autograph hold the Silver and Gold Food for Life Catering Mark award, which makes their meals better for British farming and better for animal welfare. Autograph's team of nutritionists work closely with their chefs making sure that meals are varied and support our pupils’ health and wellbeing.

Our wraparound care provision includes both a breakfast club and afterschool club (Playzone). Breakfast club runs from 7.45am - 8.45am every day. Children are provided with a healthy breakfast, including a selection of cereals, toast, water and milk. Playzone runs from 15.00- 17.15 each evening, we have a wide selection of toys and games, as well as organised activities to keep the children entertained!

My son is in Year 4 at Penryn Primary Academy.&nbsp;He is happy, settled and he thrives in all aspects of his schoolwork.&nbsp;His favourite lesson is Forest School and he always looks forward to this lesson with much excitement.&nbsp;The staff are friendly and approachable and communication with parents is first class.&nbsp;The new reading record books make life so much easier for parents as there is one place to look for of the homework for that week.&nbsp;You can record your child’s reading sessions and there is also an opportunity to write a note to the class teacher if required.&nbsp;I love the community feel in the school with the highlights of the year being the Summer and Christmas Fayres!

Penryn Primary Virtual Tour 2021/22

I had the best time at Penryn Primary, the teachers are helpful, encouraging and made learning interesting.&nbsp;I made loads of friends, we had lots of fun and we were proud of our school.&nbsp;Every week there were sports to take part in, against schools from all over. We could all be part of a team at some point if we wanted to.&nbsp;The school helps you get ready for the next stage and in Year Six we had many lessons at the College, meeting teachers and learning your way around. &nbsp;I enjoyed every day at Penryn Primary from nursery to my last day in Year Six.

We are very proud of our school and the opportunities and experiences it can offer to the children within our community, most notably our Forest School provision and swimming pool on site, which every child at our school accesses! Our aim is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to enjoy their school life and to achieve their maximum potential within a supported, vibrant, whole child-centred environment. Within the Early Years our children can explore and experience areas of the curriculum through independent play and adult led activities, both indoors and in our outside area and Forest School. Our curriculum is flexible, experience rich and based on the needs and interests of our young learners.
