When the world was created, all the animals where busy finding food and constructing shelters. However, there was one proud looking Giraffe, who was also curious. Most days, he was told not to stand on the rocks to reach the leaves on the trees and to go find the smaller tress to eat off. But, the Giraffe, who never listened, always used the rocks to stand on because the leaves tasted better on the taller trees. Early on Wednesday morning, when the Giraffe went to get his food he always walked past an Elephant-who was very kind, polite and had good manners- he reminded him to not stand on the rocks otherwise Giraffe will fall and hurt himself. Without, acknowledging the Elephant, Giraffe carried on walking until he found a tall tree with a rock under. Stepping onto the rock, which was unsteady, it started to wobble.
On Thursday afternoon, again the Giraffe took the same route to the same tree. However, this time he passed a baboon, who was swinging on a branch. “Make sure you don’t stand on a rock otherwise you will fall off, explained the baboon excitedly. This time the Giraffe listened but didn’t say anything.

Confused, exhausted and hungry, the Giraffe arrived at the tree and stood on the large, mossy rock, which, rocked side to side again and he nearly fell off. On Friday night, once again the Giraffe took the same route to the same tree. Yet, this time he passed a hippopotamus, who was always grumpy. “Make sure you don’t stand on a rock otherwise you will fall off,” slowly told the Giraffe. This time the giraffe stopped and thought to himself should he really be climbing on the rocks? Is it that dangerous? He decided carry on walking and when he arrived as usual he stood onto the rock but this time he tripped and fell. Hearing the ear piecing thud, the other animals rushed to find out what happened and went to go and tell the man, who was keeping his eye on the other animals.
The man had magical powers. As quick as a flash, he ran to find the Giraffe. After finding him, he explained, “Don’t climb on the rocks; they are dangerous!” To prevent this from happening again, the magical man gave the Giraffe a long neck.

From that day to this, the Giraffe has always had a long neck so it doesn’t have to climb on any rocks anymore or hurt itself. Now Giraffe’s food is easier to reach. Follow others advice.
