Rocks and minerals have been used by Man, since the early ages, in several processes and with several purposes, constituting important resources you have begun studying and will study deeper throughout the school year.
There is a great diversity of rocks, but as you have already studied, a rock is a natural cluster of one or more minerals. Rocks are organized in groups, according to their origin and characteristics - igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks.
